1. Who we are
Lucid Liquors Ltd (company number [Company Number]), trading as Lucid Liquors, is the data controller responsible for your personal information. Our registered address is Falkirk FK1 2NT, United Kingdom. You can contact us at any time by emailing hello@lucidliquors.com.
This policy explains what information we collect about you, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Information we collect
When you request a quote, book a class, buy a gift voucher, apply to join the team, or contact us through the website, we collect the information you choose to give us. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, event date, event location, guest numbers, the cocktails you'd like to make, and any notes you add for your event.
When you pay a deposit or balance we do not see or store your card details. Card payments are processed directly by Stripe, our payment provider, who are a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor. We only receive a confirmation that the payment succeeded along with a reference number.
We also collect basic technical information automatically when you visit the site — including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referral source. This helps us keep the site secure and understand which pages are useful.
3. Why we use your information
We use your information to respond to quote requests, manage and deliver your booking, take and refund payments, send you essential booking emails (confirmations, balance reminders, arrival details), and keep a record of our contract with you for accounting and tax purposes.
We will only send you marketing emails — such as seasonal menu updates or offers — if you have explicitly opted in. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing us directly. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect booking-related emails you still need to receive.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under the UK GDPR we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to fulfil your booking), legal obligation (to meet tax, accounting, and licensing rules), legitimate interests (to keep the site secure and prevent fraud), and consent (where you have opted in to marketing).
5. Who we share your information with
We share the minimum amount of personal information needed with the following categories of service providers: Stripe for payments, our email and hosting providers for sending booking emails and serving the site, mapping providers such as Google Maps for address autocomplete on the booking form, and our accountants for tax and bookkeeping. Each of these providers is bound by their own data protection terms.
We will never sell your personal information. We will only disclose your information to law enforcement or regulators if we are legally required to do so.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working and to understand usage at an aggregate level. Essential cookies are set to remember things like your booking progress during a session. Analytics cookies, where used, are configured to anonymise IP addresses and are only set if you accept them via the cookie banner.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep booking-related information for as long as is needed to deliver the event and then for six years afterwards to comply with UK accounting and tax rules. Website enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after twenty-four months. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
8. Your rights
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct anything that is inaccurate, to ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it, to restrict or object to our processing, and to ask us to transfer your information to another provider. To exercise any of these rights please email hello@lucidliquors.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
9. Children
Our classes are designed with an adult audience in mind. Guests drinking cocktails must be aged 18 or over; we welcome mixed-age events where under-18s enjoy mocktails. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under the age of 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will always show when it was last updated. If we make significant changes we will let existing customers know by email where appropriate.
11. Contact us
Questions about this policy, or about how we handle your information, should be sent to hello@lucidliquors.com. We read every email and will usually reply within two working days.
